GENCO has an opening for a Supply Chain Engineer based out of our corporate offices located in Blawnox, Pennsylvania, a suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The Supply Chain Engineer is responsible for analyzing and improving current work processes and layouts, measuring and documenting best practices and providing assistance to our new business development team. Candidates must have strong written and oral communication skills as well as an analytical aptitude. AutoCAD and simulation experience is desirable.

The position is responsible for:
Reviewing fulfillment operations, documenting product and information flow in the current operations using tools including value stream maps, process flow diagrams and AutoCAD drawings; reviewing both order volume data and storage volume data to support operational decisions; developing recommendations for process improvements and supporting the implementation of the recommendations.Performing supply chain analyses and developing related recommendations. Analyses are used to develop the recommended operational improvements, lowering costs and improving customer service. Scope of analysis includes inventory deployment, network design, and fulfillment and distribution strategies.Conducting analyses of a potential Customers’ facilities, operations and data as part of the new business development process. The goal of the analysis is to develop a value proposition for the Customer, an operations implementation plan, and pricing.Presenting the analysis and solutions to Customers, along with other project team members.Providing support in data management and reporting Developing tools to automate the engineering processes.Working on special projects as needed.

Required Skills

The successful candidate will have:
Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Logistics, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering or Mathematics; a Masters degree would be beneficial; or equivalent work experience.An understanding of various programming languages (object oriented and mathematical).Knowledge of AutoCAD, simulation software and Access, as well as the use of query tools.Fluency with Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Project.Analytical and problem-solving aptitude.Ability to develop and present solutions that add value to the customer (external or internal).Ability to work independently and as a team (within Engineering and with Sales, Operations, Carrier Management, Parcel, etc.).Ability to identify, design and develop engineering tools. GENCO Engineering requires a combination of home office and on-site work. This position requires travel throughout the United States and Canada.
