JOB SUMMARY: To redesign products for improved performance [minimize warranty expenses/add new features & functions] and reduced cost [Value Engineering]. Also to provide engineering support to Factory Operations on products.

OBJECTIVES:
1. Operational Excellence - Create loyalty through excellence in quality, service and delivery - Define and correct customer issues in defined time frame. A 24 hour response to the customer when issue is identified. A 5 business day lead-time on short-term solutions to the customer. Log all customer issues in the Sustaining Engineering Database. Follow Sustaining Engineering Warranty Process and resolve assigned issues. Support all transitions either ramp up or ramp down to schedule.

2. Operational Excellence - Improve margins and profitablility - Implement productivity projects resulting in $250k (Stretch Goal - $400k). Identify additional productivity projects for 2008 resulting in $250k (Stretch Goal - $400k).

3. Operational Excellence - Continuously improve the manufacturing network quality, efficiency and effectiveness - Move up one level in the vision matrix. Drive improvement in the Productivity Index of 30 percentage points. Benchmark at least 1 facilitiy / process. Present at least two times during a PTE Event Meeting. Be the detailed note taker at least two times during a PTE Event Meeting. Lead and complete at least one change matrix on time. Present at Core Team Walk Throughs at least two times.

4. Dual Citizenship - Support Duality Initiatives - Provide engineering support to NPD, Sourcing, Marketing, and other IR divisions as required. Support NPD as required. Q4-07 Support Sector Sourcing Initiatives as required. Q4-07 Support revenue growth projects requested by Marketing as required. Q4-07 Support Sector Lean/Six Sigma Programs as required. Meet deadlines established by project teams. No reports of lack of engagement. Attend all meetings and give constructive feedback.

5. Operational Excellence - Continuously improve the manufacturing network quality, efficiency and effectiveness - Remain in compliance to the ISO standard. On time internal audit and CAR closure >/= 85%. No major findings, 85% audit score, no more than 4 minor findings.
