System Safety Engineer (BFTT)

Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related scientific or technical field. Five years engineering experience with the Battle Force Tactical Trainer (BFTT); alternatively, experience with Navy combat systems such as AEGIS or SSDS may be substituted for BFTT experience.Also requires good communications and analytical skills; working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs (Microsoft Office) is required.MUST be a U.S. Citizen. Position requires the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance; active Secret clearance preferred. Job Description : EG&G Technical Services is seeking a systems safety engineer to provide technical expertise to the Battle Force Tactical Trainer system safety program. Perform a range of hardware/software safety analyses and hazard assessments. Develop safety documentation and presentation materials for safety review board meetings. Also conduct safety evaluations/investigations. Review and provide safety comments relative to adequacy of various system safety program documentation such as the System Safety Program Plan, Preliminary Hazards Analysis, System Hazards Analysis, Sub-system Hazards Analysis and the Operating and Support Hazards Analysis. Establish or maintain databases as needed for hazard tracking status. Support and/or conduct test activities, design reviews, and safety assessments of hardware/software trouble reports. Prepare and deliver MIL-STD-882 safety analyses, comprehensive technical data packages and supporting presentations for review by senior level safety review boards. Interact with customers and Project Leads to prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks. : : EOE M/F/D/V
