Our client creates solutions for subsea challenges & their commitment to remain as a leading provider of subsea systems for energy production, from initial concept work through life-of-field support, is reinforced by more than 45 years of experience of design, manufacturing and installation activity worldwide. They are currently looking for a Systems Engineer to work at their office located in the Westchase area of Houston. This would be a direct position with the company.
Essential Functions:
In this position, you will be responsible for serving as a Subsea Systems specialist within a multi-disciplinary department charged with developing front end engineering studies, support to large subsea system projects and support technology development at a system coordination level. You will support execution of subsea projects by providing technical expertise, project management skills, leadership, and team-oriented and customer focused interpersonal skills to multiple technically challenging deepwater subsea projects both domestic and international. You will be accountable for cost, schedule and HS&E performance and support of technology developments and R&D initiates that enhance the group performance and market positioning.
Some of the duties of this job are:
· Support to system design in large subsea project proposals and equipment contract
· Define procurement specifications for large subsea hardware such as manifolds, valves, PLET/PLEMs
· Interface definition and management amongst different work packages, Company locations and towards the client
· Technical System management during the execution phase of projects
· System Integration Testing definition, planning and execution.
· Handling the system selection, FEED, and execution phases of prospect development
· Subsea Structures design and procurement with support from sister companies
· Development of subsea system field concepts and optimization in relation to Company strategy
· Provide assistance to R&D initiatives on field optimization and design reviews
· Work in multiple assignments and be flexible to travel for short assignments

1. Master’s Degree or 4 – 10 years experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2. Broad knowledge of methods and procedures within project management.
3. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
4. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
5.Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or customers.
6. Ability to work with mathematical concepts (high skills) such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
7.Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
8.Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
9. Experience in the design and/or selection of one or more of the following subsea euipment: Large bore valves: Subsea structures: manifolds, templates, PLET/ PLEM; Subsea Distribution and Connection Systems; Subsea Control Systems; Subsea Trees: vertical and conventional; Well intervention systems; ROV Intervention Systems
10. Strong interpersonal and communications skills, both verbal and written.
