Test Engineer

BS with major in technical/physical science area highly desired. Vocational/Technical school, Associates degree and at least 15 years of job-related experience or equivalent. Excellent communication and analytical skills; working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs. May require the ability to investigate, troubleshoot, and design solutions to problems in operational hardware and software. Position may require travel. Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance. Must be customer service oriented capable of researching and providing solutions for new capabilities and future advances in technology. Strong team working skills required, frequently works with peers to analyze requirements and supply solutions involving tactical systems integration and communication. Education: Military background required with experience in the combat and warfare systems areas. Work Experience Field: Experience in configuration and operation of various command and (C 2 )control systems. Job Description : Provide technical support in a variety of engineering assignments in test and evaluation of the Littoral Combat Ship (LCS), its equipment and systems as member of an analysis and review team responsible for maintaining and assisting in testing requirements. Essential Responsibilities:1. Perform design development or review tasks in specific areas under supervision. 2. Assist in generation of specifications, engineering and related documentation. 3. Assist with installation, test and service equipment and systems at Company and client sites. 4. Assist with maintenance of filing system, databases and logs as needed for tracking project status and inventory. 5. Support engineers in the development of technical proposals. 6. Provide support with on-site customer interface for equipment/system installation, testing, survey, fabrication, and other engineering tasks as needed.Specific Responsibilities:Provide test and evaluation support to the NSWCDD Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) Office. Experience with configuration management and operation of U.S.Navy combat systems is essential. Develops test plans and procedures for certification testing. May serve as the Test and Evaluation (T&E) Lead for the certification team. Provides leadership in all certification events leading to deployment of the first two LCS ships as the PEO IWS1A6 Certification Lead. Certifications include: Department of Defense Information Technology Security Certification and Accreditation Process (DITSCAP), Software Certification, Platform Certification Decision by SEA06, Identification Friend or Foe (IFF), Radiation Hazard (RADHAZ), etc. Review and assessment of the industry Team's Combat Management System (CMS), monitor its CMS and TSCE development, and assess its capability to meet performance requirements.Review and assessment of the Mission Package design and integration, monitor its development and assess its capability to meet mission requirementsReview and assessment of the software design, monitor its development and assess its capability to meet mission requirementsPeriodic assessment of assigned certification criteria Participate in certification criteria assessment meetingsIdentify and evaluate artifacts to support specific certification criteria assessmentsAnalyze PRs/CRs for assessment of certification impact and mission area assessmentsDevelop, support, review, and conduct test / IV&V procedures: : EOE M/F/D/V
