We are seeking candidates for the Traffic Operations / Design Engineer opportunity in Central Florida. The Traffic Operations / Design Engineer will provide senior-level traffic operations and traffic design expertise on major transportation projects. Active and future projects will include freeway traffic management systems, arterial signal control systems, traffic management center operations, incident management systems and transportation infrastructure improvements. The successful candidate will have technical experience in some or all of these areas, and be able to actively manage scope, schedule, budget, communications, documentation and overall client programs. The Engineer will lead the development of conceptual, preliminary and final ITS and traffic engineering designs such as traffic signals and signing and pavement marking. The Engineer will supervise the preparation of reports, plans, specifications and cost estimates. This position will require that the candidate supervise, schedule, and check work of project team members and work closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects. The Engineer will provide supervision, training, and work evaluation for assigned personnel in accordance with quality work, on-time, on-budget and client satisfaction principles. The Engineer will serve as the primary technical liaison with owner agencies and project stakeholders and must have strong written and verbal communication skills. Candidates must have an understanding of traffic operations and design principles and have experience designing traffic engineering and ITS infrastructure.
