This position is responsible for monitoring the condition of the generation equipment, while providing both operational and maintenance support. Equipment includes air compressors, coal pulverizers, boiler feedpumps, and various other types of rotating equipment, and requires leading the development of repair plans. This position is responsible to assess operating conditions and develop plans for continued health and operation, including technical direction of repairs, evaluation of improvements, and development short and long term budgets. This individual is required to possess, or quickly develop, knowledge of all the dynamics associated with the operation, predictive diagnostic data gathering, and reliability focused maintenance practices that would impact the safe, environmentally compliant, reliable, and cost competitive operation of this equipment. This individual will assist with solving operational hurdles that can be addressed with proper planning and execution of of planned work and/or projects to correct inefficiencies. Additional duties include preparing financial justifications, budgeting, schedule performance, and documentation of projects. This person will coordinate activities of other technical group personnel that may be assigned for the purpose of routine, project, and emergency issues and across all technical disciplines and will represent and report on issues for the assigned area.

Qualifications

Required

The successful candidate will possess a degree in Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an accredited college or university; have a minimum of 5 years power plant or job related experience.

This individual must possess excellent communication and presentation skills, and the ability to work effectively with and lead cross functional teams.

The candidate must be able to work safely, promote a team environment, and work collaboratively to achieve team goals.

Other qualifications include being a self-starter, able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, possess working knowledge of various Microsoft products, demonstrated ability to lead contractors and promote good working relationships between departments, and the ability to work extended hours as necessary to meet deadlines and to ensure resolution of plant issues.

Preferred

Knowledge of the ASME piping codes and relevant standards to plant operations and maintenance is a plus.
