 SCOPE OF POSITION

This position will be responsible for performing company wide Value Engineering and Value Analysis studies to provide focused cost reduction initiatives in conjunction with Manufacturing, Quality, Sourcing and Product Engineering.  The position will focus on developing and implementing a common approach and methodology based on established Value Engineering techniques.  Responsibilities will include establishment of policies, methods and procedures for identification of project stream, implementation and verification of cost reduction in conjunction with Finance.  This position will work closely with financial controllers, manufacturing engineering, planning and plant management to develop consistent, uniform practices for implementation across the organization.  RESPONSIBILITIES

Establishment of procedures, methods and policies for approach of VA-VE activities including selection process, documentation and cost reduction.

Monitoring of on going VA-VE studies and activities to account for targeted cost reduction, improved process efficiency, improved process and product design

Continuous analysis and auditing of product cost, breaking out components and operations for purposes of detailed cost analysis

Investigation studies in areas of product costs to determine improvement opportunities and lead associated changes.

Lead and conduct  value and cost engineering studies to determine opportunities for cost reductions and controls to improve manufacturing procedures, change product designs and specifications, or other related facts contributing to manufacturing cost and value without impairing product quality or function

Ø This position will have a significant impact on cost reduction and continuous improvement focus in all aspects of the manufacturing organization. REQUIRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

Extensive experience and practical working knowledge of:  Value Engineering and Value Analysis methodology and implementation

2

At least 7 years experience in a manufacturing environment, working in a manufacturing, industrial, or similar engineering capacity, including practical on-the-shop-floor experience

BS degree in Mechanical Engineering  or equivalent

4

Certified Value Specialist, Associate Value Specialist or Value Methodology Practitioner is preferred

5

Extensive experience in identification and implementation of Cost Reduction Engineering Projects

6

Strong engineering analytical tools; prefer SIX SIGMA training or equivalent

7

Critical thinking and analysis

8

Ability to successfully analyze and resolve problems involving large datasets of detailed data

9

Effective and efficient problem resolution skills

10

Project planning and implementation skills

11

Proficiency in ERICO’s standard PC software

12

Ability to communicate clearly and succinctly to all levels of ERICO personnel and management

Ability to effectively and efficiently organize information, documentation, etc. for own use and use by others
