Vice President of Engineering and Design
Job Description
- Manage day to day operations of busy engineering department consisting of (2) Systems Engineers, (2) Control System Programmers, (3) Drafter, along with rack fabrication department.
- Responsible for scheduling all labor associated with engineering efforts including, design deliverable creation, rack fabrication and testing, in house/on site programming, and support of both installation and service field technician’s.
- Must be capable of efficiently creating all design documents and system software required for large scale design/build or consultant driven projects
- Assist in estimating of projects, review proposed designs
- Develop and implement systems to streamline engineering as well as integration processes.
- You will be required to manage others during the design and installation phase of projects as well as well as working on projects of your own.
Qualifications
- Candidate must have a College Degree in Electrical Engineering, Acoustics, Computer Sciences or equivalent.
- Candidate must exhibit the highest degree of professionalism in both written and verbal communication.
- Candidate must have a minimum of 10 years experience working with a comparable customer base in the commercial A/V industry.
- Candidate must be able to effectively manage their time as well as others to meet deadlines.
- Candidate must be a self starter and able to manage and complete multiple tasks.
- Candidate must be comfortable with interfacing and coordinating with other design professionals and personnel associated with large construction projects including but not limited to, owners/owner representatives, architects, MEP engineers, interior designers, lighting designers, general contractors, site foreman’s, and superintendent’s.
- Candidate must have a well developed knowledge of the design and integration of control systems, projection systems, complex HD video systems, RF video systems, sound reinforcement systems, distributed audio systems, and digital signage systems
- Candidate must have a well developed knowledge of at least the following software in their current versions: AutoCAD, SmaartLive, EASE, M-Ware, N-Ware, Soundweb Designer, London Architect, QSControl.net, Symnet, SIMPL Windows, VTPro-e, and Toolbox.
- Candidate must have a well developed knowledge of networked A/V systems, TCP/IP control, and the setup of wireless networks.
- Candidate must be able to troubleshoot complex A/V systems and provide phone support when necessary.
- Candidate must possess all of the technical skills and abilities required to complete any and all tasks associated with the design and integration of complex AV systems including but not limited to, drafting, control system programming, touch panel design and creation, user interface design and creation, DSP programming, rack fabrication and testing, and final system commissioning.
- Travel of approximately (1) week per month will be required for this position.
