Vice President of Legal Affairs

Seeking an attorney concentrating on copyrights and trademarks; income tax and liens; forestry/land issues; multi-state issues and M&A’s; estate and gift; corporate planning; entity structuring; risk management & insurance; negotiation of contract terms & conditions; resolution of contract disputes and related wealth maintenance trust matters. A good grounding in business law is necessary as well as excellent research, computer skills, organization, and multi-task abilities are required.

This successful candidate must have an affinity for working closely with various business unit Presidents and team members as a partner assessing their legal exposure/risk and establishing an immediate rapport is crucial. As a trusted advisor, the VP of Legal affairs must demonstrate the highest standards of honesty, integrity and discretion.

Qualifications:

The candidate must hold high academic credentials including a J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school, be a member in good standing of a state bar, and be registered to practice. The candidate should also have at least five years professional experience with a law firm, corporate legal department. Candidates that meet this threshold of experience by including full time work within a law firm or corporate legal department while attending law school at night will be considered. Further, the candidate must be able to engage in strategic as well as tactical discussions.

Additionally, the successful candidate must be a team-oriented self-starter with strong oral and written communication, analytical, computer, and organizational skills, be able to work under deadline pressures, and have keen attention to detail.
