We currently have an immediate opening for Accountant

 

General Definition:  This position audits and prepares all financial information for the assigned CNDC Facilities. The Accountant is responsible for meeting monthly financial reporting deadlines along with quarterly and annual financial deadlines. The Accountant is responsible for reconciling all Income Statement and Balance Sheet Accounts and providing all supporting documentation to account balances. The Accountant reports to the CNDC Supervisory Accounting Structure who reports to the CNDC Assistant Controller who reports to the CNDC Controller.

Essential Job Functions:

 Responsible for detailed auditing of Daily Activity Reports provided by the CNDC FacilityWorks directly with Facility Management and Regional Management to obtain clear, concise knowledge of the facility reports to ensure proper auditing and adjustments are madeReconciles each Income Statement Account and Balance Sheet Account and provides supporting balance documentationCompiles Monthly Financial reports for the CNDC business by due dates providedKeeps all reconciled paperwork in good order and in accessible areas.Codes all invoices for payments of assigned facilitiesReconciles and records all asset additions monthly in addition to Construction in Progress asset tracking and recordingPosts daily activity into general ledger accounts. Responsible for daily general ledger maintenance and reviewReviews monthly margins for acceptable levels provided by Controller.Provides accounting documentation to the bank reconciliation department in a timely mannerResponsible for the daily delivery of all documents accompanying the daily facility paperwork which is processed in other areas of accounting (i.e. coupons, W2G information, etc.)Documents and reports all fraudulent or theft-issue related findings on any facility employees by knowledge gained through daily reconciliations or otherwiseDevelopment and maintenance of an open communications approach that favors good and easy communication among all members of the CNDC TeamPerforms other duties and special assignments as required by Management of CNDC and the Governor of the Chickasaw Nation

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Two to three years experience in Accounting and Financial Reporting is preferred.

Experience in gaming operations is optimum but not required.

Experience with two to three seasonal budget, forecasting and analysis cycles is optimum.

Experience or related knowledge in the operation of a business is optimum but not required.

Experience in a cost accounting environment is optimum, but not required.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Understands trends and analysis and make positive recommendations for business improvement.Understands capitalization structures and depreciation methods in accordance with GAAP.Produces reliable financial statements for all areas of the facilityAbility to forecast financial and operational information and relay information to regional managers.Must posses strong organizational skills and time management skills.Exert strong analytical and critical thinking skills with strong detail focus.Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to communicate extremely well with all members of the Chickasaw Nation Division of Commerce Team.Ability to be a trusted and trustworthy member of the Chickasaw Nation Division of Commerce Team, as well as an excellent role model and representative of the people of the Chickasaw Nation.

 

Training and Experience:

Education:  Achievement of BA in Accounting is necessary. Licensure as a Certified Public Accountant is optimum, but not required.
