POSITION REQUIRES A MINIMUM OF 5 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN CATERING OPERATIONS, WITH AT LEAST $250K PER YEAR IN VOLUME.

 

Catering Operations Manager / Chef needed for national visitor service company at the Reid Park Zoo. Experience with fine dining and volume picnics, management of multiple events, recruiting and training waitstaff, and kitchen management is a must. 

 

This is a physical, in-the-field position, with desk duties limited to scheduling, time planning, and product ordering only.  The Catering Operations Manager / Chef will supervise the prep crew, the set-up and tear-down crew, the banquet captains, and the waitstaff.  When volume is slower, the Manager will directly perform most of these tasks.  Job responsibilities include but are not limited to: staff recruiting, training and scheduling, placing food orders, review and participation in food prep, actual event management, receiving rentals, event set-up and tear-down, and food expediting.  This position does not currently involve sales.

 

Preferred candidates will have a culinary background or certification.
