JOB SUMMARY:

There is currently available a position as Corporate Controller of Amazing Jake's. This is a dynamic company, based out of Aliso Viejo, CA that is growing fast and looking for an individual with the assets to complement its rapid growth. The Controller in this organization will direct the financial affairs of the organization and prepares financial analyses of operations, including interim and final financial statements with supporting schedules, for the guidance of management. The Controller is responsible for the company's financial plans and policies, its accounting practices, the conduct of its relationships with lending institutions and the financial community, the maintenance of its fiscal records, and the preparation of financial reports. The position involves supervision over general accounting, property accounting, internal auditing, cost accounting, and budgetary controls. In addition, the Controller will assist in the administration of the organization.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Development, analysis, interpretation and reporting of statistical and accounting information in order to appraise operating results in terms of profitability, performance against budget, and other matters bearing on the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the organization.

2. Responsible for evaluating the performance of personnel in the Accounting Department. This individual recommends training requirements, has the duty to keep the staff at the highest level of skill necessary to meet company needs and objectives.

3. Maintains the company's system of accounts and keeps books and records on all company transactions and assets.

4. Assist in the preparation and supervision of any audits as required.

5. Establishes major economic objectives and policies for the company and prepares reports that outline the company's financial position in the areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and future operations.

6. Coordinates and directs the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, institutes and maintains other planning and control procedures (including the cost accounting system), and analyzes and reports variances.

7. Is responsible for tax planning and compliance with all federal, state, and local corporate, payroll, and other applicable taxes.

8. Furnishes internal reports, revises and updates reports to be more useful and efficient, and furnishes external reports as necessary.

9. Determines depreciation rates to apply to capitalized items and advises management on desirable operational adjustments due to tax revisions.

10. Evaluates and administers insurance coverage for protection against property losses and potential liabilities, as well company benefits.

11. Coordinates and maintains the company’s purchase order system.

12. The Controller should have a working knowledge of accounting and point-of-purchase systems.

13. The Controller will assist with the administrative duties of the company, including but not limited to insurance and regulatory matters, purchasing, and office management.


JOB REQUIREMENTS:

1.  This position requires familiarity with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices and procedures and relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

2.  This job will primarily be based out of the company’s headquarters in Aliso Viejo, CA. However, there will be some occasion for travel to the company’s various centers.

3.  The qualified individual should possess a minimum of 7 years experience in the field of accounting, with a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in this field. Any higher education or accreditations earned considered a big plus.
