Director Payroll
The Director Payroll is responsible for overseeing all payroll operations of Madison Square Garden, Radio City Music Hall, the Beacon and Chicago Theaters. Responsible for weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly and monthly payroll processing. Oversees the preparation of audits for month-end, quarter-end, year-end taxes, and W-2 forms. Manages the preparation and audit of employee tax data for transmission to third party vendor responsible for filing all required tax returns. Supervises the reconciliation of payroll and tax related general ledger accounts. Participates in all payroll audits including Workers Compensation, Unions, Regulatory Agencies, internal audit and external financial/accounting audits. Assists in developing policy and procedures for payroll. Responsible for Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) related reporting, projects and maintenance, and participate in other special projects and duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years experience in payroll and general accounting with a Bachelor’s degree in Business/Finance or related work experience. Experience with multi-state, multi-union environment preferred. Must have extensive experience in PeopleSoft Version 8.9 including payroll processing, tax processing and query expertise. Experience in Time and Attendance system interfaces a plus. Will be computer proficient with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Must be a self-starter possessing excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Will have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
