Director of Food Service Operations, Family Attraction

Consequently our managers, chefs and sales people are fluent in all aspects of event management. ARAMARK AT THE ORLANDO SCIENCE CENTERThe Orlando Science Center offers hands-on fun for all ages through engaging interactive exhibits, live programming, extreme screen films, school field trips and school-break camps.  The Orlando Science Center fosters curiosity, innovation, discovery and intellectual achievement, drawing together all our varied Central Florida cultures, through participative, authentic experiences that create an appreciation for the importance of science and technology to our way of life.  ARAMARK manages the food service operations and Gift Store at the Orlando Science Center.  We manage not only the cafe overlooking Lock Haven Park, but also catering for special events. POSITION OBJECTIVEThe ARAMARK General Manager will work very closely with our client to maintain our partnership and will have responsibility for the P&L and operational success of this family attraction.  Staff includes approximately 5 salaried managers and reports to the District Manager for the Cultural Attractions division. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Manage the client relationship while providing hands on execution management of the operation Complete P&L responsibility Developing new concepts to increase existing revenue sources for public foods, catering and retail merchandising outlets Partner with DM to plan and execute business development strategies for growth Execute business plans for the operation Recruitment and development of new and existing managers Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred At least 4 years of successful experience in operations management in a fast paced food service environment with a combination of catering/banquets, restaurants, and concessions/public foods Strong analytical skills with an emphasis on financial analysis Experience with creating new and innovative approaches to established business locations Experience with retail operations, merchandising or sales is preferred Demonstrated ability to lead multiple outlets Demonstrated success working and building effective internal relationships that move the business forward within highly matrixed, team-based environments Strong presentation skills as well as solid written communication skills.
