Tax Manager

 Top Notch International Media and Entertainment company is looking for a tax manager to start up and run a practice. 

 

ResponsibilitiesPrepare and file the company’s U.S. and Canadian income tax compliance requirements, as well as international requirements as applicable. Research and calculate a variety of complex adjustments and maintain clear, concise documentation of reporting positions. Review of the consolidated and subsidiary tax provisions for financial reporting purposes. Keep abreast of changes in federal, state and applicable international tax laws, as well as perform and/or manage research projects and special projects related to tax minimization strategies. Communicate with accounting and finance departments to facilitate the flow of information required for tax compliance. Develop responses to information document requests from tax authorities as necessary to resolve tax issues. File sales and use compliance requirements as needed Continuously review and recommend appropriate tax structure for company. Review and advise regarding tax implications and strategies for mergers & acquisitions. Responsible for compliance to all company polices and procedures in order to adhere to all audit programs Other duties as assigned

 

QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required CPA preferred Minimum of 8 years of corporate income tax filing, compliance, research and reporting experience with exposure to international income tax, sales and use tax, and M&A – preferably two to four years of that experience in public accounting In-depth knowledge of tax law and accounting, including experience with consolidated, multi-entity tax returns. General ability to use sound judgment and interpersonal skills to obtain and determine the source, timing, significance and effective use of tax data. Excellent time management and organizational skills Experience with partnerships and disregarded entities in the international context a plus. Foreign tax credit experience a plus Proficient in MS Office and knowledge of CorpTax and Lawson/Oracle software a plus.
