Manager/ Director, Finance
Anschutz Entertainment Group, Inc. (“AEG”) is a subsidiary of The Anschutz Company and one of the leading sports and entertainment presenters in the world. AEG owns a collection of companies including multi-use facilities such as STAPLES Center and Home Depot Center in Southern California, several sports franchises including the Los Angeles Kings (NHL) and Los Angeles Galaxy (MLS) and AEG LIVE, one of the world's leading concert promotion and touring companies. AEG is also currently overseeing the development of L.A. LIVE, a 4 million sq. ft. downtown L.A. sports, residential and entertainment district.
Due to our continuous growth and expansion into new markets, we are seeking an experienced Director, Finance to be an integral member of AEG’s management team at Citizen's Business bank Arena in Ontario, CA.
The Director, Finance will oversee & supervise ongoing accounting and box office functions for the arena, and prepare routine financial and operational reconciliations, reports and settlements. Overall responsibilities include maintaining formal accounting systems, supervising the organization of accounting and box office records and files, supervising the preparation of regular reports and reconciliations including event settlement; and preparing budget-related materials.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Accounting Management:
Create standard operating policies and procedures manual and maintain documentation regarding the accounting systems and tasks.
Supervise ongoing accounting procedures, including invoicing, cash receipts and disbursements, data entry, journal entry preparation, regular report preparation and monthly closing.
Manage the processing of invoices for payment, ensuring that source documentation is appropriate and properly coded.
Manage the accounts receivable billing function and ensures that revenues earned are properly accounted for and reported.
Manage the accounting cash flow needs, investing idle funds and allowing for minimum operating account balances and timely payment of accounts payable.
Maintain ongoing cash flow reconciliations.
Maintain the internal auditing program, inclusive of the box office, inventory, payroll and other expenses. Recommend forms and/or procedures to improve program operations.
Financial Reporting:
Prepare and analyze budget and financial reports and submit to management as outlined by the management agreement.
Monitor uses of the facilities in relation to re-billable services; supervises the preparation of and monitors the status of performance settlements and other specialized invoices, reports, etc.
Provide a monthly accounting of revenues billed and collected to facility owners.
Maintain a log of wage analyses, project lists and purchase orders.
Manage the end-of-the-month reconciliation.
Post-Event Settlement-Review event costs with event promoters and provide overview of all final costs after each event ends
Payroll:
Partner with AEG Payroll office in Los Angeles
Review bi-weekly payroll reports, signs payroll checks, and comply with tax requirements.
Submit bi-weekly reimbursement requisitions to the owners for payroll and other expenses relating to the facility operations.
Box Office Management:
Ensure regulatory compliances in the area of personnel management, particularly as it relates to labor laws, insurance and company policies.
Communicate new developments in scheduling, staffing, events and projects.
Other:
Serve as the purchasing agent for the facility following standard operating procedures for purchasing.
Assist General Manager as required/assigned.

The successful candidate will also have skill in personnel management, fiscal planning, budget preparation and administration, data collection and analysis, developing and implementing policies and procedures, effective training, report preparation and designing and implementing accounting, financial and human resources systems and controls.
Strong written and oral communication skill with ability to communicate well with management-level peers as well as employees.
Capable of handling all aspects of the accounting cycle and principles and techniques of arena operations.
Ability to prepare and analyze budget and financial reports and correspondence.
Strong organizational skills.
Ability to work under above-average pressure in meeting urgent deadlines.
Ability to work long, irregular hours and weekends as dictated by event schedules and project timetables.
Significant experience in budgeting and fund accounting procedures.
Must be proficient with computers and MS Office programs such as Word, Excel, & Outlook.
Knowledge of JD Edwards accounting software preferred but not required.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field, with two to four years of public accounting or not-for-profit experience.
Experience:
5 to 7 years of previous experience in finance management. Finance management experience within the facilities/arena management industry a major plus
Experience with JD Edwards a major plus
