Sony Pictures Entertainment is seeking a Sr. Business Analyst (SAP) for their Finance/IT Department located in Culver City, CA.  This individual will be a Reporting Analyst for SAP Business Warehouse reporting projects and will interact with the business and cross-functional teams as well as management.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

· Responsible for reporting projects, maintenance, and break-fixes; responsibilities include interaction with Business personnel to analyze needs, gather reporting requirements, design, work closely with developers, provide feedback to the business and management, and testing.

· Provide financial reporting expertise to help users leverage existing reporting solutions and functionality.

· Create user friendly reports utilizing BEx Analyzer.

· Knowledgeable in how query structures are created, and restrictions, formulas, variables, hierarchies and hierarchy nodes are configured.

· Create report related documentation and assist the user training team.

· Insure the front-end tool provides all functionalities supported by the logical data model(s) and that the tool takes advantage of the physical database design features.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 

· Expert level experience with SAP Business Warehouse reporting tools.

· Expert experience in analyzing business requirements.

· An ability to quickly develop an understanding of BW data models in order to make judgments about business report requirements.

· Ability to communicate well with business area representatives, creating reports to facilitate meeting their reporting needs.

· Able to use a heads down approach to achieving on-time results. Experience in Data Modeling, logical and physical database design.

· Experience with test scripts and validating the data to ensure accuracy and consistency.

· Good working knowledge with Excel.

· Knowledge of VB macros desirable.

· Able to create functional specification for R/3 reports; relate and communicate well with developers.

· Create detailed technical designs in line with the reporting/BI strategy and design guidelines.

 

 

Education and/or Experience:

 

· Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related degree.

· Minimum 3 years experience.

· Excellent verbal communication skills.

· Excellent written communication skills.

· Ability to work independently.

· Has a Positive Mental Attitude, is an upbeat Team player and self-motivated.

· Enjoys being a Subject Matter Expert.
