Position Overview:

Responsible for activities to support Hosts in delivering highly effective, professional sales presentations in the live TV environment. Coordinates host schedules, collects & distributes content and support materials, conducts review of “Readiness for Air” checklist for Hosts and guests, other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions:

 

Principle Accountabilities & Authorities:

Responsible for supporting 6 to 7 specific hosts’ needs for all on air programming support.

 

Coordinates hosts schedules for all internal meetings, maintains individual host calendars.

 

Assists host in getting ready for air – coordinates make up (during scheduled overage period) completes “Air Check” checklist prior to all hosts & guests going on air.

 

Works with Merchandising, Marketing, Programming and Producers to collect all show support materials and coordinate activities necessary for host to be highly prepared for live shows.

 

Present and/or available to host in studio periodically to support needs during live programming.

 

Assists in gathering information for hosts and using it to build and maintain product information library.

 

Acts as guest point of contact and coordinates host meetings with all guests.  Coordinates guest production information with the host and producer group as needed.  Escorts guests to and from the studio floor.

 

Reviews changes to Host schedule on TV programming calendar, ensures Hosts are aware of any schedule change and are prepared for any newly assigned programs.

 

Accountable for Hosts presence in studio, as scheduled – real time response required when Host not present as scheduled.

 

Assists in coordination of training and preparation of new Hosts for auditions as needed.

 

Reviews and takes necessary action to ensure Host Offices maintained and provisioned at all times.

Qualifications:

 

Education: Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) or equivalent experience.



 

Experience:

Degree in Business recommended or 3 years experience in live TV.

 

Physical Activity:

Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. Check only if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires full use of the lower extremities and back muscles.

Lifting: Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position. Check only if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires substantial use of the upper extremities and back muscles.

Pulling: Using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.

Repetitive Motions: Substantial movements (motions) of the wrist, hands, and/or fingers.

Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken work. Those activities, which demand detailed or important instructions spoken to other workers accurately, loudly or quickly.

Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds with no less than a 40-db loss.  Ability to receive oral communication and make fine discriminations in sound.

 

Visual Demands:

Operators: This is a minimum standard for those whose job requires work done at close visual range. (i.e. preparing and analyzing data and figures, clerical and administrative functions, accounting, computer terminal use, extensive reading, visual inspection, operation of machines, using measurement devices, assembly or fabrication of parts.

 

Physical Requirements:

Light Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for Light Work.
