Warehouse/Inventory Manager

Summary:

Manages the day-to-day supply management functions for operations and is responsible for and all the logistical functions associated with meeting market, region and corporate objectives.  This position may oversee multiple locations with minimal direct supervision.

 

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Functions/Responsibilities:

 

1.  Will expedite the delivery of Inventory assuring continuity of supply to support operations.

2.  Maintains inventory stock levels by the proficient use of reordering schedules and forecasting.

3.  Keeps inventory investment to a practical minimum.

4.  Implements efficient storage methods which yield ready accessibility of materials, permitting efficient service to users, efficient space utilization and flexibility of arrangement, reduces the need for material handling equipment, minimizes material deterioration and pilferage and allows ease of physical inventory.

5.  Maintains inventory variances, levels and turn within corporate guidelines via the use of a computerized tracking system.

6.  Proficient use of all computerized tracking systems i.e.; CSG, SAP & Oracle, for inventory and IRD processing and tracking.

7.  Responsible to manage inventory FIFO practices to minimize negative financial impact of aging inventory.

8.  Performs all human resources transactions for subordinates including selection, coaching, developing, performance evaluation, training and disciplining when necessary.

9.  Oversees warehouses to ensure compliance with all inventory policies.

10. Monitors the day-to-day processing of all transactions to ensure accuracy.

11. Maintains accurate inventory records and provides performance and status reports on demand.

12. Reconciles the perpetual balance in the computerized tracking system to the physical quantity on-hand.

13. Responsible for storing, tracking and reconciling serialized IRD equipment.

14. Ensure all corporate security policies are enforced.

15. Assists corporate personnel in identifying and moving excess and obsolete inventory.  Works closely will all departments to assure a smooth transition and eliminate obsolescence when changes are made in product specifications and utilization.

16. Ensure warehouse facilities comply with all OSHA safety guidelines for comparable facilities and work environments.

17. As part of a service-oriented organization, performs other work-related duties as assigned.

Job Experience:

·  2-3 years or previous management experience is required.

·  3 years of previous logistical experience in a supervisory role is required.

 

REQUIRED Job Skills:

 

·  Excellent oral and written communication skills.

·  Demonstrated proficient use a computerized inventory control and purchasing system.

·  Exceptional mathematical and analytical skills.

·  Excellent organizational and documentation skills.

·  Ability to effectively manage a staff of 2-15 people including a supervisor.

·  Ability to track and evaluate employee work output and accuracy.

·  A demonstrated ability to prioritize work load and effectively handle multiple assignments with minimal supervision.

·  Proficiency with personal computers, word processing and database software is required.

 

Formal Education/Degree: 

 

Two year business degree or 4 years of equivalent work experience.

 

Certificates/Licenses: 

 

·  Valid state driver’s license with satisfactory driving record is a must!

·  American Production and Inventory Control Society C.P.I.M certification or Institute of Supply Management C.P.M is preferred but not required.
