4769 - Sr. .NET Support Engineer

JOB SCOPE:
This position is for a highly qualified engineer who will be responsible for working with external and internal customers who use our client’s software in a production environment. The Senior Support Engineer will need to have achieved mastery of most code-centered, detailed-design centered, and task-centered activities. It is absolutely necessary that all candidates have excellent communications skills and works well on a team. Excellent experience is required to be considered, as this position will work with QA and developers to help streamline products in addition to support activities.

DUTIES:
•  Analyze debug, and fix complex technical issues in various technical disciplines
•  Mentor Support Engineers and provide internal technical training sessions to department employees
•  Participate in on-site support and training needs
•  Provide technical information, customer assistance, and solutions to technical problem across all supported product installations
•  Assist in the maintenance, improvements, and new development of technical support tools and processes
•  Work closely with Quality Assurance, Development teams, and Engineering to facilitate resolution of more difficult issues
•  Accurately document all customer contacts and problem statuses
•  Maintain a record of common problems and issues for feedback to marketing and engineering
•  Provide feedback to engineering and product design groups to help improve product quality and usability
•  Ensure the accuracy of production source control code
•  Participating in the after-hours rotational on-call schedules

NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS:
•  5-7 years of experience in software development or technical support
•  Strong troubleshooting and customer service skills
•  Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows NT, Win2K, and XP operating systems
•  Experience in the software development life cycle (SDLC) steps needed to ship a product
•  Required to have expertise in three or more of the following:
- .NET technologies (.Net Framework, ASP.Net, C#, VB.Net, and ADO.Net)
- VB
- C++
- HTML & XML
- XSL
- COM/DCOM
- ASP
- SQL Server 7, 2000
- Scripting languages (JavaScript, VBScript)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
•  BS/BA in Computer Science, Business, or a related field
•  System administration and support experience
•  Microsoft certifications (especially MCSD)
