Position ResponsibilitiesMonthly, Quarterly and Other Periodic Activities Accumulate and summarize portfolio activity from the funds’ investment manager, banks, custodians, underlying fund administrators and brokers. Perform a due diligence review on the fair valuation of privately held securities and any other fair valued securities. Review or record transactions in long and short investments in equity, options, futures, swaps, distressed debt, trade claims, bank debt, privately held securities and all other fund investments. For private equity funds, perform a due diligence review of complex financial transactions, including private security purchase agreements, demand registrations and corporate reorganizations. Accumulate and summarize investor activity from the funds’ investor services agent. Record transactions between affiliated entities, including but not limited to special purpose vehicles, tax blockers and feeders. Prepare expense budget analysis and perform expense calculations. Book all fund transactions using double entry accounting. Perform accounting reconciliations between multiple parties and analyze differences. Prepare unaudited financial statements. Determine the value of the funds and allocate that value to each investor, including incentive allocation and crystallization with and without hurdles and preferred returns, new issue income, side letter agreements and side pockets. For off shore funds, calculate transactions for series of shares roll up and deferral accounts. For private equity funds, prepare or review the calculation of capital calls and the carried interest and distribution waterfall for capital distributions. Calculate the funds’ geometric returns for hedge funds and IRR for private equity funds. Coordinate the preparation and distribution of each investor’s periodic capital statement. Prepare and distribute other recurring and ad hoc monthly reports to internal and external parties. Annual Activities Assist in the annual audit. Prepare the annual financial statements. Assist in the preparation of year-end tax reporting for individual investors. Other Work with and assist other associates in meeting common goals. Independently manage time over the monthly, quarterly and annual production schedules. Develop expertise with few repetitions. Operate in an environment in which the business logic has not been automated. Analyze unique and recurring situations, come up with solutions and continuously improve processes, all with limited management interaction. Self-development initiative. University degree (B.A., B.Sc., M.B.A.) in Business preferably majoring in Finance, Accounting or another Financial-related program. Experience working with Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word).
