Accountant I

 

The Accountant I will be involved in all aspects of the general ledger including month end close and assisting with the preparation of financial statements.

 

Duties: Gather and prepare accounting information to adequately support journal entries. Complete month end general ledger close assignments in an accurate and timely manner. Meet deadlines associated with accounting research and resolution of discrepancies. Perform variance analysis of financial statement accounts.

 

Specs: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or other related field that can be applied on the job, or equivalent experience.

1. Knowledge of accounting principles, and proper application, 1-3 years of applicable experience.

2. Detail oriented with strong analytical and interpersonal skills.

3. Strong understanding of computer applications, and is proficient in Microsoft applications, specifically, Access and Excel, clear understanding of general ledger systems (Sage) and reports systems (Crystal).

4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

5. Must be able to work longer hours during close periods.
