Accounting Analyst, Corporate Reporting
Department Description: Corporate Controllers is the principle financial reporting group within the Firm. This group is responsible for reporting of and the control of the operating results of Merrill Lynch (ML) to its shareholders and clients. This division is comprised of the following groups: Accounting Policy Control & Risk Assessment Corporate Financial Reporting Expense Control Internal Control Group Management Reporting Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith and Merrill Lynch & Company ControllersTogether, these groups work closely with all areas of ML including Business Finance, Treasury, Risk Management and other areas of CFO.Brief Description: Merrill Lynch seeks a qualified candidate for an Accounting Analyst within the Corporate Reporting Group. The position will be at the Assistant Vice President level. Job Responsibilities:Monitor the monthly closing of the firm’s books Record consolidation adjustments to ensure that the firm’s consolidated books and records are properly stated (i.e. minority interest, cross-entity eliminations, inventory net down adjustments, etc.) Monitor and assist reconciliation of out-of-balances on a firm-wide basis (i.e. inter-company, dividends, investment in subsidiary vs equity, etc.) Produce the firm’s P/L and B/S reports on a monthly basis and perform a high level review of the operating results of the firm Communicate with legal entity controllers throughout the firm, both domestically and internationally Interact with numerous departments of the firm, including Treasury, Tax, RegulatoryQualifications:The ideal candidate should posses an Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance. 5+ years of experience, consolidation experience required and CPA/MBA a plus Microsoft Excel, Word, Knowledge of Oracle General Ledger application, Hyperion reporting, Discoverer General: Solid accounting knowledge, strong analytical skills, good verbal and written communications skills, ability to multi-task Merrill Lynch is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
