Maintain general ledger balances and activity within those accounts by performing periodic reconciliations, inputting general journals and researching/resolving account discrepancies for all branch locations. Monitor, control and protect the assets of the company and provide accurate information concerning the business operations to internal and external users.Job FunctionsEssential elements1.Perform general ledger account reconciliations.2.Code payables invoices to proper accounts for all locations throughout the U.S. and Canada.3.Set up invoices for payment in Oracle for all branch locations.4.Perform check runs (match up invoices to checks, obtain signatures, mail payments).5.File unclaimed property tax report annually and doc stamp tax return monthly.6.Complete and send Form 1099 to all qualifying parties. 7.Review of all employees expense reports and submit for reimbursement.8.Assist with filing of invoices/payments.9.Assist with various month-end close procedures including account reconciliations, insurance allocations and miscellaneous tax reporting.10.Communicate with outside vendors and departments in resolving discrepancies.11.Assist with daily deposit and posting of deposit.12.Void checks for any branch location by request.13.Communicate with branches regarding payables needs or issues. Marginal elementsPerform other duties, as assigned.Physical and Visual RequirementsPosition requires sitting for extended periods in an office environment with some walking and carrying (files, folders, etc.) Preparation or review of documents and reports using pen/pencil, calculator, or keyboard is a major component of the position.Environment Atmospheric ConditionsGeneral office environmentJob Qualification RequirementsEducation: Associates degree in Accounting preferredExperience: Two (2) to three (3) years accounts payable experience preferredKnowledge and skill: Bookkeeping knowledge essential as well as Computer software knowledge including MS Word and Excel. Knowledge of Oracle financials preferred. Detail oriented and organized individual.Machines, tools, equipment: Telephone, computer, standard office equipment, 10-key calculator.Licenses, certifications: NoneAFC offers a comprehensive compensation package including, paid vacation, medical, dental and vision insurance, tuition reimbursement and 401K.
