FSA’s at Allstate are encouraged to rotate to new positions every few years to broaden their experience, learn the big picture, and prepare for more challenging roles to come!DESCRIPTION AND SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES:As the manager of the life insurance modeling team, your three key responsibilities are to: Lead, inspire, coach and develop your team of three actuarial students. Deliver modeling results to the modeling senior manager for: the actuarial opinion and memorandum; risk-based-capital testing; GAAP deferred acquisition cost unlocks; strategic and operational plan; portfolio durations and convexities. Manage the development of the life insurance models. This includes: adding new model capabilities; validation and documentation review; assisting with the build-out of FAS 157 fair values, embedded values, and economic capital; promoting a SOX-like modeling environment; modeling platform conversions.QUALIFICATIONS (EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND PERSONAL TRAITS REQUIRED) FSA with at least 5 years of life insurance experience, preferable in universal life, variable universal life, term, and traditional life insurance. Proven organizational skills including excellent time management and the ability to handle multiple concurrent assignments. Strong people management and interpersonal skills in order to work well as a manager and in a team environment Excellent written and verbal communications to interact with a wide variety of internal and external contacts Proven analytical skills, with strong detail orientation. Proficient with Microsoft applications, and some programming (C++, Visual Basic, Basic) knowledge preferred. Direct experience with actuarial modeling software such as MoSes or TAS is helpful.
