Chevron Mining is accepting online applications for the position of Manager of Administration located in Gallup, New Mexico through May 21, 2008.Overview:The Manager of Administration ensures integrity of financial results and that strong compliance and control are in place. Develops short and long term business plans in conjunction with Engineering Manager. Provides management reporting and performance comparisons to plan to all levels of management. Is responsible for SOX testing and reporting. Applies principles of Operational Excellence to accomplish all tasks. The open position is at the McKinley Mine located 25 miles northwest of Gallup, New Mexico.Qualifications:Key Job Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:• Responsible for managing and directing the General Accounting, Human Resources/Labor Relations, Procurement to Payables, Warehousing, and IT function of the McKinley Mine using the principles of Operational Excellence. Ensures that all department activities are performed safely• Ensures integrity of financial results and that strong compliance and controls are in place. Develops short and long term business plans in conjunction with Engineering Manager. Provides management reporting and performance comparisons to plan to all levels of management. Responsible for SOX testing and reporting, SANGEA testing and reporting, and environmental third party waste reporting for the Mine.• Directs the Procurement through Payables function with annual purchases of $34 million of all third party contracting, MRO and capital requirements. Authors and administers major third party contract for materials and services. Assures compliance with delegation of authority and execution authority for all contracts and purchasing documents. Responsible for surplus equipment sales and investment recovery.• Directs the activities of the HR/LR unit which is responsible for providing services to 175 Represented and 41 non-represented employees. Assures compliance with UMWA contract and other laws in effect at the mine including Navajo Nation Laws.•Oversees the warehouse function responsible for the maintenance of approximately 8,000 line items with a value of $7mm and management of additional 500 consigned items with a value of $1.5mm. Ensures integrity of stores records and physical maintenance of storage areas• Participates as member of the mine leadership team, Mine PDC, and Operation Excellence Leadership Team. Participates in weekend production management of the mine.• The McKinley Mine is in the last three years of operation. An understanding of the planning for this event is paramount.
