We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual in our Brokerage and Clearing Financial Control Group. This team is responsible for the monthly financial close (i.e. accruals, allocations, etc.), management reporting of variances and monthly management reporting of the Firm’s B&C expenses. Other responsibilities include analytic and ad hoc reports for senior management used to negotiate brokerage fees. The individual selected for this role will:• Perform the month end accrual process for commission payable and receivable on the CME and CBOT • Review the month end files from the exchange related systems to ensure the rates are in agreement with applicable documentation • Resolve any discrepancies with regard to client accounts and commission rates with the Operations Department in a timely manner • Liaise with external broker counterparties with regard to commission discrepancies and resolve pending issues in accordance to monthly deadlines • Process month-end accrual and allocation for clearing, exchange and floor brokerage fees in relation to listed derivatives activity. • Communication with operations personnel regarding the updating exchange related systems to ensure accounts are correctly coded to receive the correct fee type • Provide scheduled and ad hoc reports to Senior Management regarding brokerage and clearing expenses for North America Skills Required:The successful candidate will have: • Bachelors Degree – Accounting or Finance • 0-2 years experience in financial services industry • Strong Accounting skills • Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills needed • Proven track record of good organizational skills, sound time management, and ability to prioritize and multitask • The ability to interact with employees from all levels of the organization in a professional and responsive manner • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Access • Team Orientation, a sense of urgency, and a proactive approach.Skills Desired:Morgan Stanley is a truly global financial firm, working with suppliers and users of capital all around the world.
