For additional information about Allstate Investments, LLC visit our website at www.AllstateInvestments.com . The scope of this job is: to perform quantitative analysis that directly enhances the performance of the Portfolio Management Group.  There are several functions within this group that require such analysis, including our strategic and tactical asset allocation functions, our Derivatives unit, and our client relationship function.   Key near-term projects involve strategic asset allocations for the Allstate portfolios, the construction of portfolio risk models, and the implementation of econometric models that forecast asset returns and provide indications of relative value. The position will be responsible for: enhancing portfolio performance through financial modeling.  Working with senior analysts, the analyst will research, implement, and maintain models that support strategic and tactical asset allocation, portfolio risk management, and derivatives trading.  Required Skills: Intermediate skills in computer programming Solid understanding of financial markets, financial modeling, risk management, and numerical methods Strong communications skills and an ability to work in team settingExperience Required: Three years of experience in a quantitatively-oriented investment function Direct experience performing asset allocation research a plus Risk modeling experience and derivatives-related experience a plus Coursework or experience in econometrics and time series analysis a plus  Computer Proficiency:Knowledge of  MATLAB, C/C++, VBA, and SQL preferred; knowledge of statistical packages such as SAS and Splus encouraged. Education:Masters / MBA preferred, quantitative concentration encouraged Major Preference:Business, Finance, or Management Science
