Application Development Environment Engineers

Premier MissionStaff client currently seeks a long-term contractor to serve as an Environment Engineer helping to deploy and manage Application Development environments, particularly with Sharepoint, and .NET.

Deployment TechnicianSkills:Experience with change management process, proven ability to support multiple business systems and multi tasking.Understanding of / experience with enterprise level, complex application deployments.Previous experience as an application developer or software engineerSQL Query experience, understanding of relational databases Strong problem-solving skills and troubleshooting skillsResponsibilities:Receive requests for new Environment Deployment (re-cycle), prod re-syncs or rollback and execute themWork with Environment Manager and Change Mgt coordinator to prioritize and plan environment deployment and maintenanceSupport pre-production & production environment builds & maintenance. Provide daily maintenance and technical support activities associated to the operations of pre-production environments  (development, QA test, workflow integration, UAT, training and staging/production support). Prepares and maintains environment related build documentation.Work with internal IT organizations and/or vendor to find resolution to system failures, and provide a root cause analysis.Provides 24x7 production support/coordination as assigned in an on-call rotation.Map technical requirements to the application environment and infrastructure requirementsCoordination of equipment sizing, acquisition and application environment build-out with infrastructure and other IT groups.Install and configure systems, application and monitoring software and maintain existing configuration filesCreation of VB, Perl and other scripts as required to automate environment and/or application deployment tasksAttitude / Behaviors:Committed to customer service with the focus on quality and environment availabilityWorks well in a team environment, is transparent and desires both personal and team growthLearning / Growth OrientedBalanced with respect to customer requests and the constraints imposed by a required split of responsibilities and processExcellent follow-through and attention to detail.Technical RequirementsStrong knowledge of Windows 2003 operating systemsExposure to VMWareAbility to troubleshoot and analyze systems, networking and applications issuesExperience installing, configuring Microsoft Based applications including:Sharepoint Applications.Net based codingBiztalk 2006SQL Server 2000/2005Experience in distributed application developmentExperienced scripting application installation setups
