Applications Systems Engineer 5

Provides technical support in the enhancement and maintenance of a complex operational datastore application. · Analyzes business requirements, provide estimations and schedule, performs design and writes technical specifications and unit test plans. Develops and maintain complex codes or provides coding guidance to other team members.· Able to multitask with concurrent projects and coordination with interface applications, different technology groups, and offshore resources. · Responsible for the overall quality of system changes going into production. Perform code review, tests, quality assurance, and coordination of all changes for production installation. Perform required production checkout which may require off-hour works.· Develops and provides guidance on project documentation to meet enterprise development methodology and standards. · Responsible for updating and testing of the business continuation plan and fail-over exercises.· Be willing to provide off-hour on-call support. Act an escalation point for application support and troubleshooting, provides guidance and direction to team members in the resolution of production problems. · The job also involves coordinating with India resources and is expected to work around various time zones. Minimum Qualifications: · 5+ years in supporting production application. Troubleshoot production problems and coordinate with customers, interface applications, and different technology groups in the resolutions of production issues.· 5+ years of Oracle PL/SQL programming experience. SQL tuning is a plus.· 3+ years in Unix Shell scripting· 5+ years in Perl scripting· 3+ years in database modeling and design· Experience in Job scheduling tools like AUTOSYS· Exposure to NDM scripting· Excellent oral and written communication skills.
