Job Description:


Using discretion and judgment, an Asset Control Specialist II assists in the day-to-day operations of the Asset Control Team (ACT), the reconciliation's group within Global Investment Support. An Asset Control Specialist is responsible for the daily cash and position reconciliation's of Institutional clients and retail mutual fund accounts, and the investigation and resolution of any resulting exception items. Additionally, an Asset Control Specialist assists management by serving as a knowledgeable resource for the research and resolution of complex operational issues, and for escalating potential risk items and areas.Reconciles cash and assets (including shares/par, market value, cost, etc.) between MFS and custodians on a daily basis, using software as appropriateResearches all differences with custodian and resolves differences in a timely manner, working with other areas of Global Portfolio Services, such as trade settlements, as appropriateMaintains internal records on the portfolio management system for account activity.Ensures accuracy of system by ensuring that the portfolio accounting system is updated daily for all appropriate adjustments.Works with colleagues to complete tasks that satisfy client-specified investment guidelines or reporting requirements.Assists Team Leader in reviewing daily reports, resolving performance issues, etc. and assumes additional responsibilities as requested.Identifies potential risks and escalates to Team Leader.Assists with testing new systems/processes/procedures, provides coverage as assigned and trains new employees on daily tasks.Performs additional duties as requested.

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in business or equivalent work experience.Minimum 2-3 years related custodian reconciliations experience is preferred.Moderate understanding of investment products and investment operations is desired.Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.Solid analytical skills and attention to detail.
