Associate- Institutional Sales
This role is responsible for providing support to the firm’s business development efforts for the institutional distribution channel. By working with the Business Development Directors, this individual will assist in the generation of leads via mailings, introductory phone calls, communication with prospects and consultants, and other search means. They will also be responsible for responding to requests for information, researching and analyzing key prospects and competitors, and generating materials for finals presentations and other meetings.RESPONSIBILITIES• Prepare presentation materials for new business and consultant meetings. Assist Business Development Directors in preparing for meetings by researching and analyzing prospects and competitors. • Provide requested follow-up information and analysis to prospects following new business meetings.• Research and report regularly on potential new business opportunities using Money Market Directories, investment publications, Internet sites, and other resources.• Coordinate and perform mailings to prospects promoting Turner’s capabilities and services. • Conduct introductory phone calls to prospects to determine level of interest in Turner. • Schedule meetings with interested prospects for Business Development Directors and send additional marketing materials and other information where appropriate. • Maintain contact management database (SalesLogix) with updated information on prospects, new business opportunities, and consultant activities and meetings. Ensure consistency exists between third party prospecting tool (Money Market Directories) and firm database. Create procedures for entering information and develop customized reports for team. • Research and report on competitors using Investor Force, RPU, websites, and other research tools.• Act as the central resource of information for Business Development Directors while out they are out of the office. Respond to requests for information and anticipate their needs with regards to new business activities.• Develop strong working relationships with internal departments. Serves as liaison to other departments on behalf of the Business Development Directors.• Complete assigned projects as requested.• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. Working toward or possessing MBA or CFA preferred.• Minimum of 3 - 5 years’ experience in the securities or financial services industry, preferably within the area of marketing, business development, and/or client relationship management.• Strong fundamental understanding of equity securities and investment processes.• Highly detail-oriented self-starter with the ability to maintain a high standard of accuracy while working in a fast-paced environment under minimal supervision.• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet frequent, inflexible deadlines.• Strong organizational and time management skills.• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.• Strong aptitude for and proficiency with PC-based word processing, spreadsheet, database management, and desktop publishing applications.ANTICIPATED CAPABILITIES: • Direct knowledge of Company products – 3 months• Direct knowledge of Company and department procedures – 3 months• Continuous learning regarding industry – ongoing• Develop internal departmental relations in role of department liaison– 3 months• Develop detailed understanding of SalesLogix.
