These projects involve launching new telemarketing initiatives at external telemarketing vendors, domestic and international, both inbound and outbound programs, and span across new customer acquisition and existing customer programs. Incumbent will mainly work under minimal supervision, conferring with the manager only on major or significant matters in order to perform the essential job functions. Conducts independent business/operations projects which may involve technical components. Is responsible for project design, development and implementation. The project process involves creating vendor business requirements, leading project meetings, ensuring business requirements meet internal business partner needs, creating test files, test plans, conducting testing and documenting and communicating project status. Responsible for the overall, accurate, and timely implementation of projects.  Roles & ResponsibilitiesThe Project Management team maintains responsibility for all telemarketing vendor launches and system support. Roles and responsibilities include the following: • Hold weekly Business Update meetings to update the business owners on the status of projects and to obtain business prioritization between projects and vendors.• Manage the TMS project management lifecycle between the WaMu business units and telemarketing vendors.• Serve as the main point of contact between WaMu and telemarketing vendors for non-performance (i.e. production) related issues.• Test and certify all vendor coding against the business requirements to deliver final approval for vendor launches.• Provide updates to WaMu and telemarketing vendors at all stages of the project lifecycle.• Own set-up of new telemarketing vendors• Transition implemented projects to the vendor management team.• Provide systems support and trouble-shooting for implemented projects on an ad-hoc basis.• Provide project management subject matter expertise to department and team members• Provide project methodology expert assistance as a mentor or coach to project team Minimum Skills Required: The qualified candidate will possess the following: Candidate must have excellent analytic, problem solving, written communication, and presentation skills.The individual must be able to handle tasks in a fast-paced environment, working both independently and as part of a collaborative teamAt least 2-3 years of successful Project Management experience, managing medium to large scale projects.Strong working knowledge of Project Management tools, such as Visio and Microsoft ProjectWorking knowledge of MS Office Suite including Excel, Word, and PowerPointMust be proficient in writing detailed business requirements documentationExperience creating test plans, test data, and validating test results.Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Strong time management skills.Preferred Skills: PMI Certification is preferred but not requiredExperience in the telemarketing industry and with its practices.College DegreeWashington Mutual is an equal opportunity employer.
