Associate Research Analyst

Position Description:

POSITION SUMMARY: Assists in the fundamental and technical analysis of investment products, conducts product due diligence, research, and communicates results to Financial Consultants. JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Supports senior analysts in research coverage of all sectors that are followed. Assists with due diligence requirements. Participates/initiates efforts to build industry knowledge, company contacts, market intelligence aligned with senior analyst's coverage. Participates in evaluating primary market research data and assists in writing reports. Facilitate Monday morning sales call and monthly research calls. Maintain the Exchange Traded Funds (ETF) approved list and be the primary contact for ETF research. Provide backup support for the research library and others. Builds and maintains firm financial spreadsheets/models. Assists in generating and updating various quantitative/qualitative reports and presentations. Completes analytical projects as needed or requested. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Economic, financial, and general business concepts and terminology. Quantitative and qualitative statistical methods and concepts and other analytical financial tools. Preparing and delivering clear, effective, and professional presentations. Effective computer, numerical reasoning, and time management skills. Providing appropriate recommendations for resolution of complex financial issues. Developing and leading initiatives from implementation to completion, as well as analytical ability to diagnose issues and recommend process improvements. Problem solving sufficient to effectively analyze, research and resolve inquiries in a timely manner. Read, analyze, and interpret complex scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal research documents. Partner with other functional areas to accomplish objectives. Use appropriate interpersonal styles and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with all organizational levels. Work simultaneously on multiple projects under pressure of deadlines and other time constraints. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Four year degree in Business, Finance, or Communications, or equivalent, and 2 to 3 years prior experience in research analyses in a finance/banking or securities industry, or an equivalent combination of education. Series 7, 63 (or 65 and 66), 86 and 87 licenses or willingness to secure within 12 months of hire.
