FPCMS Systems works on technology-based projects in collaboration with Fidelity's other Systems divisions, customers and vendors (such as the FMR trading desk), and the custodian banks.  Position Description:The FPCMS Application Support Group provides application support services for the FPCMS mutual fund business and systems community. The services provided include direct application support for fund accounting and pricing applications.  For this position we are seeking a Software Engineer/Developer to work on a specialized application within Fidelity Pricing and Cash Management — Fixed Income Fund Accounting unit.  We are looking for someone who will be comfortable joining a team where they will participate in both support and development activities. Primary Responsibilities: Provide application support for client/server applications against backend relational databases (daytime support with some on-call)  Under moderate direction support small to medium size enhancements, research reported problems, perform technical analysis, resolve defects, and support ad-hoc business requestsEducation and Experience: College Degree preferred or equivalent work experienceSkills and Knowledge: Requires competency with UNIX technologies such as shell scripts and PERL Experience with SQL stored procedures Experience with Sybase and BRIO (SQR) or similar technologies highly desired Excellent problem solving and organizational skills Strong written and oral communication skills Company overview:Fidelity Investments is one of the world's largest providers of financial services, with custodied assets of $3.3 trillion, including managed assets of more than $1.5 trillion as of January 31, 2008.
