Job Description:
The Billing & Reporting Analyst serves as a resource to the RBC Correspondent Services business unit and correspondent clients on billing related matters. The position will interact with Correspondent management and financial consultants to answer billing questions and to research and resolve issues. Additional responsibilities will include various monthly activities including the review and analysis of data to ensure accurate and timely processing. Using knowledge of the billing system, billing system processes, and industry knowledge, the position supports both correspondent clients and business unit management.
Requirements:
Minimum
- Bachelors Degree is required, preferably with a concentration in Finance or Accounting
- One to three years financial experience
- Strong interpersonal skills with a customer service orientation
- Ability to take initiative, function independently, and work in a team
- Ability to develop and analyze alternative solutions and make recommendations
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects while ensuring that goals are met
- Demonstrated ability of personal computer skills, with an emphasis on Excel and Access
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
Preferred
- Two or more years Industry knowledge and experience
- Experience in the billing and reporting processes
Key Accountabilities:
Position Scope:
This position interacts with business unit management, other RBC business lines, and service providers including Operations through routine tasks and ad hoc projects to deliver superior service to our correspondent clients.
Major Job Accountabilities:
Correspondent Reporting
Participate in the preparation and distribution of monthly and other ongoing billing and financial reports to correspondents and business leaders to enhance and facilitate the monthly billing settlement process. This includes utilizing general database skills such as Access, Excel skills, and developing and enhancing reporting models and distribution/reporting tools, understanding the business practices that drive the financial results, to identify abnormal settlement statement items and determine the cause of these items and assist correspondents and management in their resolution.
Financial Analysis
Conduct analysis on a variety of financial issues and business opportunities. This includes determining the appropriate analytical methodologies, developing and presenting alternative solutions, summarizing results and making recommendations to assist in managerial decision-making. The analyses may involve, but are not limited to, interpretation of market data and group performance relative to industry peers to identify opportunities for improvement.
Ad Hoc Projects
Participate in multiple projects aimed at identifying and implementing changes to current business practices. This requires the identification of major stakeholders, contributing to the development of consensus solutions, assisting in the follow-up to ensure that project proposals receive appropriate approvals, using analysis to adjust ongoing earnings expectations, and monitoring projects for successful completion.
Major Challenges:
The Billing & Reporting Analyst must be able to maintain a high level of detail orientation in order to provide timely and accurate reporting and analysis to clients. In addition, it is essential to utilize strong interpersonal skills to maintain relationships with clients and individuals at all levels of the organization while handling multiple responsibilities at one time.
