Summary:

The Business Analyst works with project teams and software developers to clarify business needs and determine solutions for business problems. Business Analysts are mentors to project members by sharing best practices about requirement gathering and analysis, and software testing to improve software quality.  They are responsible to any process area where process/system improvements must occur.

Position Responsibilities:Gathers technical and functional user requirements. Translates business requirements into high-level and detailed functional specifications. Writes detailed description of project specification documents, such as business requirements, functional specifications and technical design documents. Writes detailed use case scenarios. Acts as intermediary between the business and Central IT to ensure process and system solutions are converted to requirements that the end user can understand. Coordinates needs of end users, management, and developers on project requests. Provides oversight for system testing, support, and quality assurance. (tests as needed) Contributes and adheres to standardized documentation. Trains users on systems and processes.

Position Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Arts or Business is preferred, or a minimum of five years experience in a Business Analyst role. Excellent communication skills, including documentation and writing skills. Ability to negotiate with others to find positive resolution. Ability to establish strong working relationships at all levels of the organization. Familiarity with overall IT concepts, practices, and procedures. Demonstrated ability to effectively manage stressful conditions in an ever-changing and fast-paced environment. Willingness to accept personal responsibility and accountabilities to the team. Demonstrated change management skills. Proficiency in use of process mapping to quantify and recommend process improvements. Leadership experience in a business environment, including supervisory experience or demonstrated success managing change initiatives and applying process improvement methods in a team-based work environment or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Advanced knowledge of process improvement techniques used in a service industry environment, such as Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) or Total Quality Management (TQM) methods; project management principles; team leadership, motivation and coaching techniques; change management concepts.
