We also manage to keep a sense of humor along the way.  So if you’re ready for WaMu, read on! Provide senior fraud management with programming, data retrieval, and MIS reporting services to meet or exceed forecasted fraud Charge Off results. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:*  Analyze relevant data to identify fraud transaction patterns.*  Make strategic recommendation to fraud management to prevent fraud losses.*  Respond to ad-hoc data analysis/MIS requests from fraud management.*  Generate periodic MIS for fraud operations.*  Work with management to prioritize fraud reduction initiatives and track results.*  Understand logical strategy deduction and false/positive risk assessment.*  Perform champion/challenger testing*  Identify core dependencies and develop necessary MIS for emerging processes.  Minimum Skills Required:2-3 years of prior data analysis experience and presenting findings to the Managerial Team2-3 years of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access.2-3 years of prior experience developing SQL Queries in Oracle or a Microsoft SQL serverExcellent communication skills both verbal and written. Ideal candidate will be an independent problem solver with a high level of organizational skill.  Candidate must be experienced in building databases, data analysis, and designing and building both management and operational reports. Candidate must have extensive experience with data organization, data structures, and data layouts and transmissions.  A demonstrated aptitude in the presentation of information and understanding of requestor needs and the business is required.  Candidate must be able to work under minimal supervision within tight timelines. Preferred but not required:Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, or MathematicsSAS experience Excellent understanding of relational databases and data marts2-3 years work experience in a financial, insurance or pharmaceutical institutionExperience in a Data Architect role  Washington Mutual is an equal opportunity employer.
