Business Systems Analyst

Increased technology demands, in conjunction with business growth, have led us to actively seek a dynamic Business Analyst to join our diverse team. As an Analyst in SIG's Equity Trading area, you will be given the opportunity to work in a role that will allow you to cross over and collaborate with various lines of business; it requires multi-tasking across several projects simultaneously. You will be expected to provide data and workflow analysis resulting in specifications for use by the various software development teams. In addition to consultation and discussions with end users, workflow evaluation, and data attribute identification, you will be required to complete associated technical documentation. By joining our expanding Technology team, you will have the opportunity to be involved in the initial business analysis stage of many critical and highly visible enterprise projects and may also be called upon to leverage business knowledge in order to assist with other aspects of the SDLC such as testing, light-weight project management, training and deployment planning. Essential Functions Conducts efforts related to business analysis and project management of real-time trading systems applicationsUtilizes face to face interviews in order to elicit business requirements and establish functional specifications for real-time trading systems developmentWill be called upon to leverage business knowledge in order to assist with other aspects of the SDLC such as testing, project management, training, and deployment planningPrimary interaction with traders and technologists; excellent communication & organization skillsActs as a liaison between systems administrators, traders, business unit heads and senior management Required/Preferred Qualifications Must have four (4) years minimum experience in a Business Analyst role with proven ability to synthesize complex information and ideas into well-written and concise documentationA minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Software Developer/Programmer is requiredTwo (2) years of Wall Street experience is preferred, including any combination of experience Must be able to juggle multiple simultaneous projects and meet demanding deliverablesMust possess the ability to work autonomously and must be self-motivatedIf your experience is with a buy or sell side firm, this is a major plus An understanding of the various workflows between trade & order management systems, database handling, clearing processes, data integrity maintenance, and compliance reporting requirements a plusKnowledge and experience with modern systems design areas such as Design Patterns and Object modeling, as well as, data flow, sequence and event diagramming required.
