Allstate was founded in 1931 and became a publicly traded company in 1993.Investment Technology Project Manager (Professional): The position requires the ability to estimate, plan, and ensure the successful execution of all phases of the project and to effectively communicate project status to team members, supervisors and clients. The Project Manager identifies resource needs and negotiates their acquisition. Issues and risks that may impact project success are anticipated and viable mitigation strategies are developed. Actions are taken to meet commitments, drive toward results while preserving quality and in accordance with department standards. The responsibilities of the Project Manager include but are not limited to: Manage the project process to deliver high quality products in accordance with the agreed upon budget and time commitment Create and execute project work plans and associated documentation according to an established methodology; make plan revisions as appropriate to match changing project needs and requirements Obtain information necessary to create realistic and attainable estimates of time, cost and resources, revising as project experience dictates Identify and make project staffing recommendations and tracks assignments and utilization for projects Develops positive relationships and shares information with project or pursuit members and interfacing teams Create effective communication vehicles to keep team members, supervisor and clients informed of project status, issues and risks Seeks and utilizes relevant knowledge to identify and recommend the best solutions for clients/users Develops and leverages appropriate technical, functional, or business knowledge to support the successful development of client / user solutions. Anticipate events that could adversely impact project success, develop mitigation strategies and continuously evaluate their effectiveness Adheres to department Quality Assurance practicesRequired Skills: (skills individual must bring to the job) and skill levels required:- Beginner (has general understanding/knowledge)- Intermediate (has good working knowledge/understanding)- Advanced (is considered an expert) The skills required are1. Intermediate -Works effectively in a team environment and maximizes team effectiveness. 2. Intermediate – Project Management Skills3. Intermediate - Organizational, problem solving, detail oriented, oral and written communication4. Intermediate - Flexibility to adapt to changing work priorities and assignments. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines5. Advanced - Initiative, self-motivation, professional demeanor and desire to learn Experience: 3 – 5 years managing technology projects of varying size (5+ staff, $50-$150K, 500 – 2000K hours desired) Technology Industry experience e.g. Data Warehousing or accounting systems Accounting or Finance or Investment background essential Proficient in MS Project or other project tracking tool Familiarity with software development lifecycles, RUP, Agile methodologies and practical experience in their use College degree in MIS, Finance or related fields preferred Certification (PMP or other) desirable
