Since 1993, Neighborhood Health Plan of Rhode Island has been a catalyst for improved access and better health for vulnerable populations. With nearly 700 Primary Care Practitioners and more than 1700 Specialists, we have been able to serve five Medicaid populations with the type of high-quality care that no one else can offer. We have dedicated ourselves to providing for 36% of all children in Providence, and 19% of all children in the state of Rhode Island. This commitment has garnered many awards and honors, including being the first community health center based health plan in the country to be rated “Excellent” by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). We are currently seeking an individual to help us continue to excel.

 

CFO

 

In this corporate leadership role, the CFO relies on his/her extensive strategic experience and sound judgment to perform a variety of tasks that involve the financial infrastructure of the organization. In this position, you will champion strong financial performance throughout the organization, while developing and executing financial strategies, overseeing all budgeting activities, and assuring company compliance with federal and state regulatory agencies. Responsibilities include assessing the strengths and weaknesses of the company’s financial and investment management strategies and implementing steps to improve them; overseeing internal risk management and audit functions to drive improvement and risk mitigation; and leading cross-department work groups to improve functioning.

 

To qualify for this position, you must have at least 10 years of progressive financial management responsibility, with experience in a health insurance or a directly related business setting. A bachelor’s degree with CPA is required; an MBA or a master’s degree with a financial emphasis is preferred. Experience being leading departmental and cross-functional teams, managing within a goal-oriented environment, and as being part of a senior management team responsible for a company’s results are essential. Excellent analytical and verbal communication skills are also essential, as is a strong commitment to the mission and values of Neighborhood Health Plan of Rhode Island.
