As a key member of the practice, you will leverage your financial services industry specialization by serving as a senior manager on client engagements. You will be involved in leading efforts to identify issues, develop strategy, conduct analysis and design technology, process and operations infrastructure including selecting appropriate systems and working with senior management to respond to industry developments and new products. You will also play a role in keeping the practice and clients informed about industry trends, new solutions and technology and their application to our client's issues. Regulatory & Capital Markets seeks candidates with exceptional records of managerial or professional achievement who demonstrate the capacity for constant development. Equally important are: · Analytical and problem solving skills combined with exceptional business acumen · Complex problem solving abilities across operational, organizational and strategic matters · Strong communication (both written and verbal), organization and interpersonal skills · Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Access and Project · Aptitude for sales and marketing support to secure business management and technology consulting engagements Alternative investment management experience or specialization should include: portfolio and/or partnership accounting system experience for a hedge fund, private equity or alternative investment department of an investment organization · A strong fundamental understanding of risk and portfolio management related to utilizing alternative investments within an investment strategy · Familiarity with the trading, operations, documentation, settlement and reporting processes for such securities · Undergraduate degree in a Business, Finance, Mathematics, Computer Science or Liberal Arts discipline · Masters degree in Business, Finance, or Computer Science preferred The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of industry, vendor or consulting experience in an alternative investment management or private equity firm, or other financial services organization with a clear record of expertise, accomplishment and impact. Candidate profile should include: · Extensive knowledge of alternative investment products, derivatives, structured products, hedging strategies, derivative operations & processing, plus familiarity with a project management framework and industry regulations · Experience using, implementing or supporting systems such as: investment or partnership accounting systems, private equity or hedge fund accounting, order management, securities dealing, loan management or real estate accounting, risk management. · Familiarity with systems such as: Advent Geneva and/or Partner, Wall Street Office, SunGard Investran or InvesTier, Thomson PORTIA, Algorithimics, etc. · General knowledge of the vendor and utilities landscape for the alternative investment management market · Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with clients · A proven ability to manage and motivate a diverse team of resources and complete projects on time and within budget · A desire to continuously update skills and understanding of industry requirements and challenges and share that knowledge with both senior and junior colleagues · The ability to support or lead the proposal development and presentation process · CPA, CFA, or other similar certifications preferred (additional relevant certifications are encouraged) (Extensive travel may be involved) About DeloitteDeloitte refers to one or more of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, a Swiss Verein, and its network of member firms, each of which is a legally separate and independent entity.
