Cash Applications Clerk

Lehigh Hanson is seeking a qualified Cash Application Associate for its Materials Shared Service’s Center located in Irving, TX.The position is responsible for completing day-to-day cash application functions in a timely and efficient manner while optimizing relationships with field personnel and sustaining internal controls as outlined in the quote to cash procedures. In addition, the associate will need to perform cash application functions timely and accurately while working in a fast paced, high performance environment. We are part of the HeidelbergCement Group, which employs 70,000 people across five continents and has leading positions in concrete and heavy building products and is the global leader in aggregates.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES and TASKS: 1. Timely and accurate application of all cash receipts to either customer accounts or the General Ledger.2. Reconcile against deposit detail to ensure that all transactions have been posted.3. Work with Sales, Credit and external customers to facilitate the resolution of discrepancies caused by over or short payments made by the customer.4. Ensure timely application of customer adjustments related to invoicing inaccuracies.5. Organization of supporting documentation to include filing, scanning preparation and packaging documents for off-site storage. 6. Produce high quality, high volume work.7. Complete special projects as needed.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:1. High School Diploma or equivalent required2. Minimum of two (2) years previous cash applications experience 3. Ability to work overtime to meet changing deadlines. Overtime is required at month-end close.4. Excellent communication skills both oral and written with the ability to maintain a professional approach at all times 5. Ability to work well as part of a team environment, with a comfort level working independently as required 6. High level of accuracy and attention to detail7. Strong keyboarding skills 8. Desire and commitment to working in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment 9. Excellent organizational and time management skills10. Excellent analytical and problem solving abilities11. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.12. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral, or diagram form. 13. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations 14. Excellent computer skills including MS Office.
