Compliance Assistant

POSITION SUMMARY: This position involves maintenance of agreements and licensing, handling of legal and regulatory inquiries, preparation of various documents and files, and other special projects. 

 

JOB DUTIES INCLUDE:

 Prepare special producer or servicing agreementsRespond to Department of Insurance complaints and inquiriesHandle special projects assigned by Manager or SupervisorCorrespond with resident surplus lines brokers, DOI staff, and carriersConduct legal research for licensing and other requirementsSet up new clients in systemsCoordinate changes on existing clients with other departmentsMaintain carrier contractsSend generic agreements for producers/brokersMaintain producer/broker database on AS400/Paradox

 

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

 Minimum high school diploma, G.E.D, or equivalent work experience requiredStrong in Access, Word, MS Office and able to type at least 45 wpm.Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients and customers.  Must be extremely detail oriented. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
