Global Technology Infrastructure reinforces our collaborative relationship with Clients and key Stakeholders to provide business-driven technology solutions and maintain a competitive business advantageJob Responsibilities: Primary responsibility is to minimize the impact to service delivery caused by failures of batch and online processing in both the mainframe and to a lesser degree distributed processing environments.  To escalate issues and problems to support or management groups as required and to provide operational assistance to diagnose and repair same.  Cross training of peers in discipline area of expertise. Qualifications: Candidate must have 5 or more years of console operations work experience is a large scale multi-platform data center.  Candidate must understand the sensitive and critical nature of data processing and service level agreements and be able to proactively contribute to organizational goals and delivery targets.  Technical experience includes expert operator level knowledge of JES3 (or JES2) and MVS commands sets.  Strong working knowledge of job scheduling platforms such as Tivoli Workstation (TWS) (OPC/ESA) and the ability to navigate and provide operator level control over CICS.  A working knowledge of VTAM/SNA and IPL procedures is required.Knowledge of standard mainframe or distributed tools such as: MAINVIEW, OPS/MVS, TMON, REMEDY, AUTOSYS, Tandem, OMNIBUS and/or NETVIEW is preferred.Must be able to work 3 day, 12 hour shift that may include weekendsMerrill Lynch is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
