Contracting Agent

Lead multiple cross-functional procurement teams chartered to maximize the value of purchased goods and services as required by the Corporation in accordance with customer specifications, while mitigating risk. Lead all aspects of the procurement process for projects of high complexity including, but not limited to, the following: pre-qualification of potential suppliers; proposal solicitation; proposal evaluation including complex pricing analysis; negotiation of high dollar/high complexity contracts/agreements without managerial supervision; and ongoing monitoring, measurement, and management of supplier performance.  Assume a leadership/mentoring role to other Sourcing associates and/or may supervise staff.

 

Manage major supplier relationships to maximize the value associated with related contracts, and/or manage internal customer relationship(s) at the senior-management level to optimize the value obtained from its business-line unique procurements.

 

Identify global procurement standardization, consolidation, and leverage opportunities and implement opportunities to integrate additional affiliates/subsidiaries under the corporate umbrella of contracts, and thereby improve corporate leverage.

 

Analyze outsource/insource opportunities. Drive procurement process improvements (e.g., purchasing card, reverse auction, on-line ordering) for projects/commodities under areas of responsibility.

 

Bachelor’s degree preferably in Supply Chain Management or Business Administration. Masters degree in Business Administration is encouraged. Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.) certification is encouraged. Minimum 5-7 years of procurement experience, including leading cross-functional procurement teams, with relevant commodity/services expertise. Significant contract negotiation experience. Broad based knowledge of various types of pricing structures as well as associated contract terms, conditions, and legal ramifications. Extensive knowledge of procurement principles and practices. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong analytical skills. Strong problem solving skills. Strong project management skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products.
