Controller - Hedge Fund

Controller

Downtown hedge fund is seeking a Controller to be responsible for all aspects of accounting, financial management procedures, and GAAP based financial reporting. The Controller will meet with senior management to discuss client relationships, risk management and more. Recommend and implement efficiencies to streamline processes, mediate risk and ensure operation functions are performed within guidelines. Perform detailed review month end fund work as needed. Should be able to step into any role when needed including fund administration. Must have a solid understanding of all derivatives. This is a critical role with the firm.

 

Degree required with at least 7 years of work experience within the financial services industry. A degree in Accounting is preferred but not required. Must have a strong background in accounting. Excellent analytical and problem solving skills. Ideal candidate is a strong team player and fit into a small organization. Candidates must have strong verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated strength in development and utilization of automated solutions. Strong Salary and Bonus potential.
