As a Corporate Paralegal Associate, duties will include: Organize and track contract, corporate, and arbitration files Prepare and review forms and contracts Process important legal and operational transactions Additional tasks in support of the Legal Dept. as needed Draft correspondence and memos to attorneys or other Respond to subpoenas for production of documents Handle subpoenas duces tecum Conduct legal and factual research as directed Performs electronic research using Westlaw Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of the latest developments in law Create, run and review legal reports Reviews and assists in processing of QDROs Schedules, coordinates and facilitates meetings and conferences and some support services to the Legal staff Provides assistance to and liaison with outside counsel and other administrative agencies in the resolution of day-to-day issues as appropriate Contributes to the overall team effort by working with all members and all levels of personnel in various locations throughout the company Perform other duties as assignedRequired Skills Knowledge and understanding of legal terminology Ability to use computers to perform legal sesarches Ability to document and present findings to management Ability to read and comprehend a variety of items including, simple instructions, short correspondence, procedure manuals, professional journals and governmental regulations Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from peers, management and/or the general public. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form Ability to deal with problems in varying situations Intermediate proficiency in using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.Required Experience Associates degree, or equivalent education and/or experience, from a two-year college or technical school with a focus in paralegal studies required Bachelors degree, or equivalent education and/or experience, from a four year college or university, in a related field, preferred. 1-3 years experience in legal field preferred 1-3 years experience in customer service preferred Proven track record of quality customer service, courteousness, and excellent interpersonal skills Enthusiastic, able to handle fast-paced professional office environment Foster company success through a professional appearance, being courteous to customers & all Scottrade associates, and by having a positive attitude.
