Council Manager - Technology, Media and Telecommunications
The GLG Councils (www.glgcouncils.com) are global networks of executives, physicians, scientists, engineers, managers, attorneys, and other professionals who deliver expertise and decision-making assistance to business, government and investment leaders from around the world. The Council Manager will participate on a global team of professionals accountable for the development, recruitment, management and marketing of Gerson Lehrman Group’s most prominent Council Members. The Council Manager will be primarily responsible for managing relationships with GLG’s top-tier experts and consulting partners, programming timely content for GLG clients through the GLG News and Events product, and helping to impart industry knowledge across the global Council Management team.

Enterprise Software & Services
Hardware & Semiconductors
Media
Telecommunications
Specific responsibilities include:
Recruit new, high value Council Members into the Gerson Lehrman Group Councils:
o Interact with GLG Research Managers to gauge customer needs.
o Identify experts with pertinent insights for Gerson Lehrman Group’s clients
o Develop personal relationships with key industry executives, influencers and thought leaders, while engaging them to participate in Gerson Lehrman Group consulting products
o Develop and manage partnerships with global consultancies and market research firms
Manage and organize the global membership of the TMT Councils, using Gerson Lehrman Group’s proprietary technology:
o Analyze and develop a deep understanding of the Enterprise Software & Services sector and relevant value chains to help classify Council Member expertise and leverage the Council effectively
o Using knowledge of the Enterprise Software & Services sector and client activity, identify strategic population needs for recruiting
o Educate internal staff about industry trends and expertise in the relevant industries
o Work closely with Council Management teams in India and China and Research Management teams in Asia (Hong Kong), Europe (London) and North America (Boston, New York, San Francisco) to facilitate ongoing development and effective deployment of the TMT Councils
Help manage the development and continued evolution and growth of the TMT Council’s interactive product portfolio, including:
o Regular small-group meetings between Gerson Lehrman Group clients and Council Members
o Education Seminars (www.glginstitute.com)
o Domestic and international research trips to relevant regions
o GLG News, GLG’s proprietary online publishing platform (www.glgnews.com)
Candidate profile:
Potential candidates possess:
· Bachelor's degree with a GPA of 3.3 or higher from a leading university or equivalent work experience
· A minimum of two years of post-undergraduate professional experience, preferably related to one of the industries in the natural resources sector
· Excellent communication skills, including demonstrated proficiency in oral, writing and presentation abilities in a business-focused setting using a variety of communication channels (telephone, e-mail, in-person, etc.)
· Passion for the natural resources industry
· Interest in building an Internet-driven business
· Demonstrated ability to create and develop working relationships with senior professionals in the field
· Proven ability to work in a fast-moving, team-based work environment

Evaluation, Compensation and Benefits:
Following is an initial estimate of compensation and benefits for this position. The final compensation structure depends on many factors and these numbers are subject to change.
Salary: Competitive base salary plus year-end performance-based discretionary bonus
Healthcare: United Health plan and Metlife Dental Insurance
Vacation: 15 days per year plus NYSE holidays
